Greensburg, PA- Erskine women’s lacrosse fell to the tough Seton Hill Griffins 17-2 Thursday afternoon.  After the loss, Erskine slides to 0-13 overall while the Griffins improve to 4-2.

Seton Hill jumped out to a 6-0 lead within the first seven minutes of play.  The Griffins went on to bombard Erskine goalkeeper Katilyn Overley with 21 shots during the first half resulting in a 15-0 lead going into the break.  The Fleet, with their hands full on the defensive end, did not manage to get a shot off during the first half.

The Griffins went into stall mode during the second period.  The Fleet took advantage of this strategy and forced 8 turnovers which resulted in two goals for the Fleet, each by Sarah Tibbits.

Tibbits struck first only 3:45 into the period as she drew a foul and converted on the free-position shot.  Tibbits struck again at the 17:00 mark and found the back of the net off an assist from Hillary Henry.  Despite their efforts, Erskine could not gain any ground on the experienced Griffins.

Erskine’s Overley had her work cut out for her as she faced 27 shots, but picked up 7 saves on the afternoon.

Seton Hill’s Stephan Wallace led all scorers with 4 goals.  Seven Griffins managed to score on Thursday.

Thursday’s game was the last for the Fleet during their northern spring break tour.  The Fleet are en route back south where they will cap off their spring break by taking on Conference Carolinas foe Saint Andrews Saturday afternoon.
