Due West, SC – Senior guard Audrey Timmerman (Aiken, SC/Aiken H.S.) set a new Conference Carolinas record for most three-point shots made in a career on January 18th against Converse College with 295. The previous record holder was Betsy Bergdoll (1991-1993) of Queens University with 294. Later that game, Audrey Timmerman hit her 300th career 3-point shot becoming only the 20th women’s basketball player in NCAA Division II history to reach this milestone. Audrey entered the season needing just nineteen 3-point baskets to break the career Erskine College record held by Anita Owens (2003-2006) at 276. With her first three-point basket of the game against Barton College on December 5th, Audrey Timmerman set the new Erskine career mark, which today now stands at 311. While the overall 3-point record of 385 by Lorie Martinez (Texas A&M - Kingsville) remains out of her reach, it is possible, with eleven regular season games remaining, for Audrey to catch former Conference Carolinas standout LaShonda Childs (Anderson University/Lander University) career mark of 333. If she does catch her, Audrey Timmerman will finish her career 8th all-time in made three point baskets.
