Erskine College Athletics

Due West, SC---The Erskine College competed in the ITA Southeast Regional this past weekend at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC.  Highlights of the weekend included Tessa Rheault defeating the 15^th seed in the A flight to advance to the round of 16, also Rheault and Britton Bignon won their first round match in the A flight of the doubles matches before falling to the 1^st seeded team from Armstrong Atlantic.  Freshmen Hannah Fisher and Bridget McKenna won their first three matches in B flight doubles, before losing in the semi finals to the team from Flagler.   

Women’s A flight singles

1^st round- Tessa Rheault (Levis, Quebec, Canada) defeated Jessica Budd-Clayton State 6-3, 6-1

2^nd round- Rheault defeated Jenna McGary-UNCP (15^th Seed) 6-1, 6-1

Round of 16- Rheault lost to Hanane Toumi-Columbus State 6-1, 6-3

1^st round- Britton Bignon (Athens, GA) lost to Tina Ronel (9^th seed) Armstrong Atlantic 6-1, 7-5

1st Round consolation- Bignon defeated Sofia Lopez-LMU-default

2^nd Round consolation- Bignon defeated Victoria Stephens-Admin-error

3^rd Round consolation- Bignon lost to Eliza Adusumilli-Lander 4-6, 6-3-1-0(10-7)

1^st Round- Victoria Stephens (Cummings, GA) defeated Sofia Lopez-LMU default

2^nd Round- Stephens lost to Tina Ronel (9^th Seed) Armstrong Atlantic 6-1, 6-0

1st Round Abby O'Reilly (Acworth, GA) lost to Jenna McGary (15^th) Seed-UNCP 6-1, 6-4

1^st Round Consolation- O’Reilly defeated Jessica Budd-Clayton State-6-0, 4-6, 1-0(10-6)

2^nd Round Consolation- O’Reilly lost to Eliza Adusumilli-Lander 6-0, 6-3

1^st Round- Rheault - Bignon defeated Jenna McGary-Anna Larson-UNCP 9-8(7-2)

2^nd Round- Rheault - Bignon lost to Martina Beckmann-Alida Muller-Wehlau-Armstrong Atlantic (#1 Seed) 8-5

Women’s Doubles B flight

1^st Round Abby O’Reilly - Stephens won with a bye

2^nd Round- O’Reilly - Stephens lost to Roxanna Alt-Deon Miller-Flagler 8-2

1^st Round Hannah Fisher-Bridget McKenna won with a bye

2^nd Round- Fisher - McKenna defeated Olivia Self-Lindsey Kelly-Converse 8-1

Quarterfinal- Fisher - McKenna defeated Melanise Newbold-Ana Zaia-Lander 8-4

Semifinal- Fisher - McKenna lost to Roxanna Alt-Deon Miller-Flagler 8-5
