Bryan Fogle Drafted by Texas Rangers
Sophomore Bryan Fogle Went 5-5 Against Anderson

Due West, SC---Erskine College junior outfielder Bryan Fogle (Lexington, SC, Lexington High School) was drafted in the 30th round by the Texas Rangers in the 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year player draft.

Bryan had an outstanding junior season that saw him hit .410, with 12 doubles, 20 home runs, 73 RBIs, and a .825 slugging percentage.  His 20 home runs broke the school record of 19 set in 2005 by Antonio Sabatini, and he also tied the school's career home run record with 45 round trippers.  Fogle was named Conference Carolinas Co-Player of the Year as well as first team All Conference for the third straight year.  He was also selected first team All Region by both the American Baseball Coaches Association and Daktronics.  He capped the post season awards off by being named All American by the ABCA, Daktronics, and the NCBWA.  Bryan finished the 2009 season ranked 6th in the country in home runs per game (0.40), 8th in home runs, 9th in RBI's per game (1.46), 20th in RBI's, and 8th in slugging percentage.

"We are extremely happy for Bryan, he has worked hard over his three years here to be recognized with such an honor," commented head coach Kevin Nichols.
