Due West, SC---Senior Katee Knapp (Branford, FL, Branford High School) was named third team All American by the Sports Information from around the country. She is the first Erskine player under Alleen Hawkins to be named All American.
Katee capped off an outstanding career with a superb senior year. She hit .443 with 14 doubles, 14 home runs, 47 RBIs, and an amazing .902 slugging percentage. She led the conference in home runs, slugging percentage, on base percentage, RBIs, and total bases. She currently ranks 13th in the country in home runs per game (0.33), 22nd in RBI’s per game (1.12), 12th in slugging percentage, and 33rd in batting average. Katee was also named the Co winner of the Jake Todd award as the schools top student athlete, and had her number retired by Coach Hawkins.
“This is a tremendous honor for Katee, she has worked extremely hard over her four years here and is very deserving of this honor,” commented Coach Hawkins. “She was the leader of this team, and I am thankful for everything she has done for the softball program.”
