Due West, SC---Junior Bryan Fogle (Lexington, SC, Lexington High School) was named second team All American by the American Baseball Coaches Association and third team All American by the Sports Information Directors after an outstanding 2009 season.
Bryan was named the Conference Carolinas Co-Player of the Year as well as being named first team All Conference. He finished an outstanding junior year by hitting .410, with 12 doubles, 20 home runs, 73 RBIs, and a .825 slugging percentage. His 20 home runs broke the school record of 19 set in 2005 by Antonio Sabatini. He also tied the career home run record at Erskine with 45. He is currently ranked 9th in the country in home runs per game (0.40), 8th in home runs, 9th in RBI’s per game (1.46), and 9th in slugging percentage. Bryan is the fifth Erskine player since 2005 to be named All American and joins teammate Chas Anthony who was selected as an All American last season.
“I am very happy for Bryan, he has worked extremely hard and has been rewarded with this selection,” commented head coach Kevin Nichols. “Bryan had an unbelievable year, and I am glad that he has been recognized for what he has done this season.”
