Men's Golf Compete in Conference Championship

Winston-Salem, NC- Erskine men’s golf finished their first season of play this weekend at the 2009 Conference Carolinas Championship Tournament hosted by Belmont Abbey at the Tanglewood Park Championship course. The Flying Fleet, led by Patrick Wilson, finished tenth of eleven with a stroke total of 937 in the three-round tournament.
The Fleet easily defeated Lees-McRae who shot 1,141, but fell short of Saint Andrews who slipped by the Fleet with 924. Barton College outlasted the field to win, shooting 885.
Patrick Wilson led the Fleet again this weekend as he shot rounds of 75, 76, and 77 giving him 228 for the tournament and a 25th place finish. Brandon Hansen was not far behind, finishing in 28th with 232. Ben Sloan came in next with 236, followed by Wade Ramsey who shot 246, and Joe Anderson who hit 252.
