Kaitlyn Overley

Gaffney, SC- Erskine women’s lacrosse fell to No.3 Nationally ranked Limestone Saints 21-0 Thursday afternoon.  With the loss, the Fleet drop to 0-15 and 0-11 among conference opponents while the Saints improve to 13-1 and 11-1.

Erskine had their hands full the entire game.  The Saints held a 20-1 advantage on draw controls and a 11-3 advantage on ground balls.  Thirteen of the Lady Saints picked up goals during the game.

Erskine’s Nina Paton played a strong and physical game and picked up two ground balls for the Fleet.

Erskine goalkeeper Kaitlyn Overley faced a barrage of shot attempts but was still able to record 7 saves on the afternoon.

With the loss, the Flying Fleet end their first regular season of play.  It has been a challenging year but the team has grown close and gained a lot of valuable experience that they will use to improve and build on for the upcoming seasons.

The Conference Carolinas tournament will begin on April 15 and the semi-finals and championship games will be hosted by Limestone on April 18-19.
