Lacrosse Falls to Nationally Ranked Limestone

Due West, SC- Erskine women’s lacrosse were dropped Tuesday afternoon by nationally ranked No.5 Limestone College 19-0. With the loss, the Flying Fleet slide to 0-6 overall and among Conference Carolinas opponents while the Lady Saints improve to 3-0 overall and in the conference.
While the score was lopsided, the Erskine team did well in slowing down the Limestone attack. At one point in the first half, the Erskine defense was able to keep Limestone from scoring for over 4 minutes. The Erskine defense was also able to close out the final 5 minutes of the game without a goal being scored. Erskine Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Overly had an impressive day facing 38 shots while posting 11 saves.
The Limestone attack was evenly distributed as fifteen Limestone Saints tallied a goal. Renee Albro and Melissa Howard led the attack as they each put up three goals a piece.
Erskine will play at home again Thursday afternoon against Edinboro. Game time is set for 4:00 PM.
