Due West, SC - Erskine College Women’s Tennis Coach Calhoun Parr has announced that Corin Hallman from Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina recently signed a National Letter of Intent to play tennis for the Flying Fleet in the fall of 2010.
Corin played #1 singles and #1 doubles for the Wando H.S. Tennis Team that has won the South Carolina AAAA State Championship six years in a row. She has been a vital part of their record-setting 99 straight victories. She also has competed in several USTA Southern Tournaments earning a Top 40 USTA Southern Ranking. She had the privilege to represent South Carolina in the recent Southern Cup where her South Carolina team finished second. Corin was also honored as the South Carolina HSSR Statewide Tennis Player of the Year for the ’08-’09 school year and was nominated as a Wendy’s High School Heisman candidate.
Besides her tennis accomplishments, Corin is also very involved in several school organizations, her church, and the community. She is a member of the Wando Beta Club, the National Honor Society and is a part of the student leadership team for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at her school. In addition, she leads a Bible Study for a small group of girls and is a member of her church worship team.
“Corin Hallman is the total package as she has excelled in the classroom and on the court,” commented Coach Parr. “Corin is also very strongly grounded in her Christian faith and we are truly blessed to have her join the Erskine Tennis program. I look forward to seeing how God uses Erskine to shape and mold Corin into the person he has plans for her to become.”
