Due West, SC- Erskine women’s golf have had a busy fall, competing in three tournaments in preparation for their primary spring season.
The Lady Fleet took to the course first on September 14 at the Anderson University Invitational where Erskine finished 6th out of 7 teams. During this match, the Fleet were led by sophomore Tiffany Hutchinson who shot rounds of 87 and 83 to finish tied for 14th. Freshman Courtney Balcome played well in her collegiate debut, shooting 86 and 80 for a 22nd place finish. Also competing for the Fleet were Lauren Johns and Megan Katsch who shot 177 and 180 respectively.
The first weekend in October, the Lady Fleet finished 3rd of 6 at the Women Independent Collegiate Tournament. Freshman Megan Katsch and sophomore Tiffany Hutchinson led the Fleet as each shot 85 in the single round tournament. Courtney Balcome shot 87 while Lauren Johns hit for 89.
Most recently, Erskine competed in the Lenoir-Rhyne Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate where they finished 11th of 13. Balcome led the way shooting rounds of 86 and 81. Katsch was not far behind as she shot 86 and 81. Sophomore Lauren Johns shot 89 the first round, then dropped 9 strokes to shoot 80 during the second round. Hutchinson shot rounds of 95 and 90 while Annie Baldwin shot 92 and 95 during her first tournament of the season.
The Lady Fleet will compete this weekend at the Southeast Championship Preview at Tanglewood Golf Club as they round out their Fall season.
