Charlotte, NC- Erskine women’s soccer fell to Conference Carolinas foe Queens University Saturday afternoon 1-0.  With the loss, the Fleet slip to 6-7 overall and 5-4 among conference opponents while Queens improves to 6-9-1 and 4-2-1.

The Lady Fleet battled it out with the Royals during the first 45 minutes resulting in a 0-0 stalemate going into the half-time break.

Queens came out of the break fired up and determined to protect their home turf on Senior Day.  During the 60th minute, Queens senior Katherine Johnson sent a long lofting ball into the far side of the box where Amanda Wright buried the pass into the back of the net giving the Royals the 1-0 advantage.

This goal would prove to be the game-winner as Queens was able to stave off all Erskine offensive attacks.

The Fleet were out-shot today 18-7 and the Royals had the 6-2 advantage on corner kicks.

Erskine will return to play this Tuesday as they host USC-Aiken at 5:00 PM on Huggins Field.
