September 25, 2007- Thomasville, NC. Conference Carolinas is proud to announce this years 2006-07 Presidential Honor Roll. This will be the final Presidential Honor Roll class of the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference era. Conference institutions have once again raised the academic bar as over 1000 student-athletes achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.00 scale) at their institutions. The league’s emphasis on “Academics and Athletics Working Together” has yielded the largest Presidential Honor Roll in conference history as this unique conference strives to be the front runner in NCAA Division II. Erskine College had 61 student-athletes who achieved the honor.
"We are, as always, proud of the quality student-athletes who represent Erskine College. Their commitment to academics and athletics represent what the term "student-athlete" is all about," commented Erskine Director of Athletics Mark Peeler.
The Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference officially changed its name to Conference Carolinas while adding Converse College as a full member to the league on June 1, 2007.
