Erskine College Athletics

Due West, SC- Erskine women's soccer team easily took the All-Stars of Converse College 2-0 on Wednesday evening.  This win improved the Lady Fleet's record to 3-3 on the season and 2-1 in the conference.

Both teams battled through the first half as they went into halftime scoreless.  But the Fleet came out during the second half much more aggressive than the first.  Amanda Tinker who had been aggressively pursuing the goal the entire game was finally able to find the back of the net as she hit a beautiful ball from the left side of the goalkeeper's box into the opposite side netting putting the Fleet up 1-0.  This was Tinker's team leading 5th goal of the season.

With this momentum, the Fleet were able to score again rather quickly, but this time Tinker was on the other end as she hit a cross which found freshman Taylor Craft who was able to one touch it into the goal for her second goal of the season.  This beautiful combination put the Fleet up 2-0, and they would coast through the rest of the match. 

The Fleet will be be back at home next Tuesday as they host North Georgia College, kick-off is scheduled for 4:00.
