Women's Tennis Awarded Rings for Another CVAC Championship Season

Due West, SC- On a beautiful fall day during homecoming weekend the Erskine Women's Tennis team was awarded their championship rings during half time of the women's soccer game.
The Lady Fleet had a remarkable season ending in a well deserved 3rd straight championship. The women's tennis program started the season with a 25 conference match win streak. The 06-07 team added 13 conference victories to leave the current streak at 38. The team accomplished one of its major goals by going 13-0 in conference play and winning both the regular season and tournament championship for the third year in a row.
The Lady Fleet have also excelled in the classroom, accomplishing another major goal by earning recognition as an ITA All-Academic Team. To earn this recognition the team GPA had to be higher than 3.2. In addition 4 players earned recognition as ITA Scholar-Athletes. To earn this honor each player needed a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Each player from the team was present and received their championship rings from Dr. Ruble, Erskine President.
The 06-07 women's tennis team made history by winning the program's third consecutive conference regular season and tournament championships. History will remember this team as one of the best teams to ever represent Erskine's motto of "Christian Commitment to Excellence in Learning".
