Men's Soccer Shuts Out Mount Olive

DUE WEST, SC---Erskine scored two goals in a one minute span to break open a 1-0 game and held on for the 3-0 victory over Mount Olive in Conference Carolinas mens soccer action Saturday afternoon at Huggins field. The victory advanced the Fleet to 6-6-2 overall and 3-2-1 in Conference Carolinas play.
Both teams battled through the first half with out getting any offense going until 25:55 into the game when sophomore Franz Destin scored on a break away to put the Fleet up 1-0 heading into half time. The Fleet broke the game open midway through the second half when Ryan Voskuil would score off a corner kick from John Michael Leppert. Just one minute later, Voskuil would help put the game away with an assist to Seamus Shevlino. Chase Smith had two saves for the Trojans, while Drew Toter has three shots. The Fleet out shot Mount olive 9-6.
The Fleet will return to action Wednesday as they host Limestone College at 7:00 pm.
