Due West, SC---Chas Anthony has been named to the 2008 South Carolina All-State baseball team following his outstanding sophomore season. He was just one of three Division II players to be named to the team and the only Conference Carolinas representative.
Chas finished the season hitting .380 with 17 doubles, 18 home runs, 75 RBIs, and had a .723 slugging percentage. His 18 home runs were the second most in school history and tied for first in the conference, while his 75 RBIs was the third best total at Erskine. He was selected as the Conference Carolinas first team All-Conference second baseman. Chas became a clutch hitter for the Fleet, hitting .420 with runners in scoring position while getting runners in from third base with less than two outs 75% of the time, and 34 of his team leading 75 RBIs came with two outs. Chas also was solid defensively for Erskine, fielding .974 with just seven errors in 57 games and 264 chances.
